Tim, Matt, and DJ were terrific! Right on time, worked quickly, and careful with all of my furniture. This is my third move with STAR, and I absolutely recommend them.

Matthew, Chris, Denzel came this morning and they were on time. They gave me a call prior to arriving. They were extremely polite, respectful and polite. Vry careful with my furniture. They worked well together and at a steady pace. They were AWESOME. TRULY WONDERFUL. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Definitely grateful they were my movers.

At first, everything was great. They were able to fit me into my scheduled move time, and the movers were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill when they broke my dining room table while unloading it from the truck. The mover offered to either take $50 off the total cost of the move or have the table repaired. We weren’t comfortable with either option, so we told them we would contact the company to find a better solution. I had no problem paying the full cost of the move, and I paid my bill without any issues. But now that it’s time for the company to take responsibility for the damage they caused, replacing my property has suddenly become a problem. It’s now been almost a month since our move, and we’ve been stuck in an endless cycle of emails and phone calls. We were repeatedly told the owner would call us back to work something out. When they finally did, they said they needed to come back to our home to inspect the table. That made no sense, considering the mover witnessed the damage, we already sent clear photos, and we even provided the invoice showing what we paid for the table. When I asked what they hoped to accomplish by coming back, all I was told was that it was “to help us.” Help us how? No one could explain what would be done differently or offer any real solution. This has been handled very poorly from start to finish. I’m now left without a dining room table because of their negligence, and the lack of communication and accountability has made the situation even worse. What started as a great moving experience turned into terrible customer service. If a company expects customers to pay in full for their services, they should also be willing to take full responsibility when they damage a customer’s belongings. Bad business. I can’t recommend a company that refuses to stand behind its work or make things right.

I used Star movers for a recent in town move. They carefully wrapped all my furniture and the move went smoothly although it took several hours longer than estimated. Once i started unpacking, i noticed several items missing. Now i cant get anyone on the phone despite repeated calls, messages and emails. I really want my items back and I can’t even get someone to help me.

This company had a high rating so I tried my hand. I was originally quoted around six hundred dollars and it was supposed to be a 2 to 3 hour move. I was elated at the price so I booked. There were two movers. The movers took literally six hours just to get my things to my new home. It was one storage. I had a couch , two beds, a dressee, washer and dryer and some boxes. It took these dudes 6 hours JUST TO GET THE THINGS TO MY HOUSE. I was promised a two bed set up and washer dryer and hookup. It already took them six hours just to get here with things already prepacked because again, it was already in storage. They got here and told me that they were already at a six hour mark , and I was already at a thousand dollars. The storage is 25 minutes away from my new place.By the time they got here, I was told I had already maxed out my time so I would have to pay extra if I wanted them to set up beds. Again I was quoted $600 originally. Im at 1000+ at this point. To make it even worse , they could not get all of my things truck they brought. They would have to go back and do a second run , but that would also add more time and more money. Im already at 1000+. I had to end up still renting a small u haul truck just to finish getting my things here that they could not fit in the truck on my own time. I was charged four hundred ish dollars more than what I was told and on top of that , you couldn't get all my things here? What were you doing for 6 hours that it took that long to get to my house when the storage was only 25 minutes away? These young boys that they have working for these companies will ride the clock as long as they can and do minimal work.These companies want to charge you full price for a half job. This company is no better than All My Sons but I would have to say worse. All My Sons broke multiple pieces of my furniture at a previous move. I say all this to say, I do not know how this company has a 4.9 star rating because this experience was so bad I am writing about this 3 weeks later. No integrity at all. I already overpaid for the job so do it right. Go ahead and go with another company that is more reputable. You may have to pay more , but at least the job will get done right. Lastly, these companies need to be more one band one sound. The front desk will promise things that the movers literally cannot do such as washer dryer hookup. Do not promise a client something that cannot be done. The front desk is quoting prices that are way off and then shocking the client when the bill comes. Very disappointed with this company.

Harrison, Matthew, Tony, Larry, and Ricky were all amazing helping us with our move from Carrollton to Williamsburg. They took care and were extremely courteous, in spite of working all day in 90+ degree weather. The price was very reasonable too! Highly recommend!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Ricardo, Christian, Tim, and Matthew. They did a phenomenal job squeezing our entire home into a 26-foot truck with ease. As you can see in the photos, they utilized every square inch of space perfectly, managing to fit bulky items like our bikes, lawnmower, and countless boxes seamlessly. The team took extreme care to ensure everything was carefully lifted in. They wrapped our furniture securely and took extra precautions to avoid any damage to the house or our items. Their teamwork was top-notch, and they maintained highly effective communication throughout the day to get everything wrapped up well before our cutoff time. If you are looking for professional, efficient, and careful movers, I would highly recommend this crew!

These guys are great! Harrison, Matthew, Tim and Vernon were conscientious, attentive to detail, and each one complimented the other. Our move was big and this is only the first day. One would say a company is only as good as the employees they hire. This is a great company.

As an ex-military couple who have experienced many moves with many different companies, we rate Star Movers as one of the best! They were diligent with every item they moved whether it be protecting the items they were moving or the environment around them such as walls, doors and frames or wooden floors. They accommodated last minute alterations for items requiring storage. Above all else, we couldn’t have asked for a more professional and friendly group of movers such as John, Patrick and Christian. Thank you also for the impeccable cleanup you did afterwards. This was a 5 star service and I would highly recommend this company for your removal needs.

The moving process was great, however almost one year later I have no clue what the status of my stores items is… I’ve been told multiple times the business is closing and that they’ve arranged for my items to be shipped to a location of my choosing, just for no one to show up at the agreed upon location at the agreed upon time with zero explanation. I’ve sent emails, responded to texts, etc. with no resolution. I’ve had to block further charges through my bank since I’m not being charged for storage I didn’t agree to.

I recently used this moving company for a move from a two-bedroom apartment and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the four movers were courteous, hardworking, and professional throughout the move. However, there were several issues that impacted my overall experience. Unfortunately, some of my furniture was damaged during the move. One of the movers proactively reported damage to our coffee table and shared photos with management, which I appreciated. However, we later discovered damage to a dresser that appeared to have been taped by the movers without our knowledge, and we were not informed about it at the time. There were also concerns regarding efficiency and scheduling. The crew was scheduled to arrive between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM but did not arrive until approximately 6:00 PM. Additionally, one member of the crew appeared to be new, which seemed to affect the pace of the move. Once the move began, it took approximately six hours to complete the relocation of a two-bedroom apartment. In my opinion, this was longer than expected for a four-person crew and resulted in higher overall moving costs. The move felt slower than it should have been, and the late arrival may have contributed to fatigue and reduced efficiency. I also tried reaching out to them via email and phone. But I did not receive any response. Last resort is me leaving this review to make them aware.

So happy with my move, John, Matt & Patrick showed up on time, we went thru the list, and they got to work . Excellent job wrapping our furniture to be moved. These guys hustled! It was a hot day and the move was from a third floor with no elevator. With that being said my over length leather sofa made it to its new home unscathed!! Will use them again.

John, Harrison and Christian did a great job moving a piano, a recliner and several other pieces of furniture for us. I definitely wanted no part of moving a piano on my own, and the team handled that with obvious knowledge and experience on how to do that safely and without risk of damage. The team notified me in advance, showed up right on time, wrapped and protected all the items, and did a great job placing the items at the destination location. Great job!

I reviewed Star Movers several years ago following a very positive experience. This was my reason for hiring them again. Imagine my disappointment with my recent experience: I booked this move nearly two months in advance and was told the schedule was “wide open,” and was given a desired early-morning slot for my 89-year-old mother’s move to a senior living facility. Unfortunately, the day before, I was informed, via text, that the start time would be pushed to the afternoon, and the crew ultimately didn’t arrive until 2:45 p.m. The movers themselves were very good, hardworking, and respectful, but they were put in a difficult position by the late start and long day. Because of the delay, the move couldn’t be completed that evening and had to be finished the next day. What should have been a straightforward, small move became a stressful, two-day, costly process. The biggest issue was poor communication and unrealistic scheduling, compounded by impersonal (AI?) automated responses when I raised concerns. I appreciate the effort of the moving crews, but the overall experience fell short due to management and coordination issues. I cannot recommend.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I was originally quoted $934 for my move, but the final cost was an outrageous $1,912 for what should have been a straightforward job involving only 2 beds (with one not even reassembled), one sectional, 2 loveseats, a 4-piece dinette set, one cabinet, 6 counter chairs, one TV stand, one desk, one dresser, 2 nightstands, one rug, a washer and dryer, and a grill. Before booking, I was transparent about having a few large and heavy furniture pieces, and I was assured your company could handle the job professionally, that my furniture would be treated with care, and that any damages or issues would be addressed. I was also told I did not need to purchase additional insurance and that if anything happened, I could simply file a claim. Instead, my furniture was not properly wrapped, my home was damaged with wall marks, holes, and scraped stairs, no furniture was reassembled, and I have serious concerns about the excessive use of time during the move. There was very little sense of urgency, and it often seemed as though the workers were moving slowly, unnecessarily prolonging the job and drastically increasing the final bill. After being told to file a claim, your company is now unwilling to take responsibility for any damages. I trusted your reputation and your promises, but this experience reflected poor professionalism, lack of accountability, excessive charges, and service that fell far below what was promised.

Harrison, Larry, Matthew, TJ, and Darren were awesome movers. They were prompt and very careful with our belongings. We had a few hiccups and they were very accommodating and understanding. I would use them for every move.

STAR Movers did a wonderful job. They arrived on time, were very communicative, and were flexible and efficient for my move from the 757 to NOVA. This was especially appreciated on the short turn around (1-2 weeks notice). Harrison and Patrick were incredibly professional, effective, and a credit o their jobs. All in all, if you're moving within the Hampton Roads area (within state or beyond) I highly recommend them!
